The idea of Glenbotal came to us naturally: being whisky lovers, we were always on the lookout for new experiences in the whisky world. As time passed, our tastes became more refined, and the hunt for new experiences grew increasingly challenging. Gradually, we became known in whisky communities, circles of private collectors, and among avid auction regulars. Throughout our journey, we met many great people who shared our passion and joined our little venture.
That’s why we created Glenbotal and became our very own first customers. We buy bottles from auctions, ballots, and private collections, then share them with a small circle of friends and people who can appreciate a good dram.
Glenbotal Ltd was incorporated in November 2020 and is based at the Pentagon Centre in Glasgow, Scotland — the heart of Scotland’s most vibrant city. We are a specialist retailer of rare, vintage, and collectible whisky, with a catalogue spanning over 8,000 bottles from more than 175 distilleries across every Scotch whisky region and beyond.
We are not a supermarket shelf. Every bottle we stock has been selected because it tells a story — whether that’s a distillery limited edition of 125 bottles, a 30-year-old cask-strength expression from a now-silent distillery, or a sought-after independent bottling that auction houses fight over. We buy directly from auctions, ballots, distilleries, and private collections, and we will only ever list bottles we would drink ourselves.
Our range covers the full spectrum of Scotch whisky regions — Speyside, Highland, Islay, Campbeltown, Lowland, and the Islands — as well as Irish, Japanese, and world whiskies. You will find everything from entry-level collectibles to investment-grade bottles in the four-figure range.

Every bottle is verified for authenticity before it is listed. We check fill levels, seals, labels, and provenance documentation on all rare and vintage expressions.
All bottles are described accurately. Where condition affects value — capsule nicks, label marks, box wear — we state this clearly in the product description. We do not list bottles we cannot authenticate. For high-value purchases, provenance documentation is available on request.
