Dalwhinnie is the second highest distillery working in Scotland and although within the Speyside whisky region will sometimes be referred to as a Highland Whisky. The Dalwhinnie 12 year old is its core range and along with the Distillers, the choice is of the more popular of its bottling, which it produces with only two stills, making it also one of Scotland's smallest distilleries. This 12 year old is a distillery exclusive meaning you would only be able to buy it in the Dalwhinnie distillery. Once opened the aromas of oak, citrus, chestnuts and peach are evident, the palate is of black tea, orange, tobacco and raspberry with a medium long finish of tobacco, oak and gooseberry.
